Farm Boy

Tammy came over last night after the basketball meeting, and we had fun eating soup and toast and talking and laughing. The funniest thing that happened was part of our conversation. It went something like this:

Tammy: Black guys are hot!

Heather: Yeah. Bring home a black guy - you will have the most beautiful babies!

Tammy: That's true.

Heather: I have always said that it doesn't matter what your race or ethnicity is; you can have successful marriages with anyone as long as you share "Mormon" culture. Take Greg and I, for example. We were both raised solidly in Mormon culture, but I was raised as a snobby, Eastern city girl, and Greg was raised as a Western farm boy.

All guffaw loudly and tease Heather mercilessly for many minutes.

Heather: That didn't come out quite right. But, if Greg is "Farm Boy" than he can only say "as you wish" to me from now on, right?

What? When did you ever live in the East? Sorry, dear, but you are from the Midwest. Having lived in the East it's a completely different thing. I'm still a little freaked out about you describing yourself as an Eastern girl ;-)
