My foray into sewing...

I decided to expand my crafting skills and learn how to sew a baby blanket. Gwen said she could teach me, but she is basically out of town from now until next Friday. But then she said they were just camping up in Midway with Judy & Devon, and we could come meet them there. So Greg and I ran up there last night, and Greg with golfing with Dave & Devon, and I sewed with the ladies.

Gwen and Judy are both master quilters, and they both had their machines and all of their sewing stuff, so they could quilt while they were camping. They helped me sew a blanket using a pattern they had learned in a class. It was really fun! I am not the greatest sewer, but luckily the blanket only takes straight seams.

And, in a true testament to how much I am looking forward to this baby, you must know that I had to wash, dry, and IRON the fabric before we went up the canyon. Yes, really, I ironed the fabric. And then, as you see in the photographic evidence below, I had to iron it again during the sewing process. Twice.

That is true love...

Gwen's dog Ivan had to stay with us in the trailer while the boys were gone, and he got a little bored. He is a good dog, albeit his eyes are a little freaky. I like them now - but it took a while to get used to them!
