Ellie's 2 Month Doctor Visit

Yesterday Ellie had her 2 month well-child check-up and her first ever immunizations.  She did really well for everything and was her normal happy self - even talking with the doctor and the nurse.  That is, until she got those immunizations.  Then it was heart-breaking to watch her cry.  We got her calmed down fairly quickly, but it is still hard!

After we got home, Ellie had a fever, and a pretty hard day.  It did not really start until about 3, so I canceled my plans for the rest of the day and just snuggled her and kept her pumped full of Baby Tylenol.  Today she is doing much better, and I am happy to have all of that behind us!

Heather (this is one of your old econ students again),
Ellie is adorable!! She's such a photogenic baby and that video before the shot where she's babbling with your husband is priceless. I'm so happy for ya!

I always had Russell come with me for immunizations - so hard to hear them cry!! Glad to see she's healthy, happy & well. (Can't believe she's already 2 months old!!)

Immunizations are the WORST! I totally cried when the nurse left after Davis got his 2-month shots. He actually did a little better at his 4-month shots, and so did I. I always have the nurse give Davis some Tylenol before she does the shots -- that way it gets into his system even faster. My sister's doc had her give her baby Tylenol before she came to the appointment, but I don't want Davis to be drowsy when the doctor checks his coordination--given who his parents are, my child needs all the help he can get with the coordination!

OH NO!! That is so sad!! I can just see you with that camera Heather! Watching and then quickly putting it down to grab that sweet girl and just cuddle her. Doesn't it make you so sad?! She did so good though! Great pictures! I'm sad that I've never taken my camera into the Dr. What a great idea!

Heather

She is just so beautiful!

Shots are hard, I am not looking forward to Beckett's in a few weeks. He screamed the whole time his PKU was done and all of his bilirubin blood tests.

I'm so glad you left a comment. My mom told me Sunday that you guys had adopted a little girl!!! Congrats! That is awesome. It is such a wonderful blessing...adoption I mean. I have quite a few cousins who are adopted and I can't imagine my life without them! Looks like life is going well! Great to hear from you! I will definitely be blog-stalking you!! :)

Wow 11 lbs.. Shots are the worst but sad to say you get use to it. And yes tylenol before you go, it helps. Also rub the injection sight and put a warm cloth on it and they won't get knots in their legs.

I can't believe you could hold that camera so steady! You have such a beautiful little girl! I need to put your blog connection on mine so I can check in more often. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
