Sweet Ellie

I love watching Ellie and discovering how her smart brain works.  While Jeff was installing our cabinet doors, we were playing downstairs.  Ellie likes to "cook" for us, but this time she asked Greg what he wanted and then pretended to write it down.  It was adorable to watch her concentration as she would repeat the item and wiggle the "pen" around on her "notebook."
Our basement is now officially done with the doors installed.  Well, Jeff is going to come back and put some knobs on, but I am counting it as officially done!

While we were playing with Rod, Jayme, Jasmine and Byron today, Rod came up with the idea to go swimming.  Ellie was so excited, and when we got home she had Tammy help her get all ready.  She put on her swimsuit and towel and cover-up, then her water wings and turtle floatie.  Rod and Jayme ended up not coming, but we met Kent, Jessica, and Denver and spent a fun hour at the pool.
Lynlee was completely freaked out for a while, and had a death grip on my swimsuit.  After we moved away from the really loud tipping bucket, she warmed up and enjoyed herself.  Ellie got really brave by the end, and went down all of the kiddie slides by herself.

We finished up the night with a bbq with Tammy, Rod et al and Kent et al, and it was a great day.  Ellie was so cute with Jasmine, "helping" her get her plate and cup, and showing her all of the toys.  They played really well together.

Pretty Darn Funny -- Video

Beth, how can I thank you enough for linking this video on facebook?  I cannot stop giggling every single time I think about it.

For my fellow Jane Austen/Elizabeth Gaskell/Downtown Abbey watching friends, enjoy this!

We always have a fun time blowing bubbles, riding the scooter, and riding the car.  Lynnie loves to be outside!  She knows how to sign it and says "ahtz" when she wants to go outside.

Lynlee can climb up on the desk chair by herself, and apparently she wanted to change things up a little.  She was having a great time moving the mouse around!

P.S.  Beth, we watch your video endlessly.  Lynlee especially likes to mimic the boys saying "ahhh" and "whoa."
The Gold Cups for Piano Festival finally came in, and this was a red-letter year.  Madelin got a 100 point cup (representing 3 years of Festival), Syreese a 200 point cup, and McKinzie a 300 point cup.  It is amazing to think about how much work these girls put into earning their cups.
It is amazing what a difference clean windows make.  The whole house is brighter today and we love to pull up the blinds and look out of the sparkly windows.

I was going to wax philosophical on the importance of cleaning the windows of my soul, but I've got nothing...

Dancing with Daddy

One of our favorite things to do is dance with Daddy.  Greg pops his iPhone into the stereo, cranks up Ellie's favorite playlist (including Pork & Beans, which is now called Daddy's Song around here), and dances with the girls.  They can't get enough of the fun lifts!

Sprinkler Fun

We love the sprinkler, although Lynlee clearly didn't like it at first.

I like having a water option that takes less planning than filling up the kiddie pool in the morning to get warmed by the sun.

Happy Father's Day

Greg is an amazing father and I am privileged to watch him in action.  He and Ellie are "pals" and Ellie loves to sing him the song, My Daddy is My Favorite Pal.  Both girls run to the door to meet him when he comes home, and often sing I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home.  I have never heard him lose his temper or yell at the girls, and that is really a feat.

Venture Camp Video

What Greg was up to last week (and Ellie has already watched this about a gazillion times--she can sing Daddy's part with him). That Russ has some serious skills!

So Close

Lynlee is so close to being able to climb on the rocking horse by herself (and the couch and etc).  She tries so hard and gets frustrated when it doesn't quite happen.

I wanted to get a picture of the girls jumping on the trampoline for our soon-to-be-released adoption profile, and I got so many good ones!  They love the tramp and will jump forever.  Lynlee is getting braver about being on her feet while Ellie is jumping.

you OK, Lynlee?

check out E's hair!

Family Photo Shoot

In preparation for doing our online profile for adoption #3, we hired Jessica Kopp to do updated family pictures.  She picked a fabulous location next to Darci's new house, and we spent a great morning with Jessica and Darci.  Ellie was so excited that Evan's mom was going to do our pictures.

Jessica did a great job with the girls, keeping them happy and entertained.  She dropped off our pictures this morning, and I am so pleased with how they turned out.  I picked my 23 absolute favorites, but I need help narrowing them down.  I can use probably 4-6 on our profile.  Can you let me know what your favorites are?  Thanks!

Whole Family
