Family Events

We have had a great week, full of family events.  We kicked off the week with a family dinner at Mom's house.  All 5 siblings were there, which is the first time that has happened in a few years.  Robyn & Kevin made a delicious dinner, and then we headed outside for some pictures.
Amy, Heather, Jonathan, Mom, Robyn, and Bobi

Papa, Nana, and Aunt Cheryl got to Utah on Monday, after driving from the Midwest via Idaho for Uncle Bob's 80th birthday party.  Everyone came to our house for dinner, and we took the opportunity for more pictures.
 Something was funny!
Robyn, Heather, Pops, Bobi, Jon, and Amy
Adam was such a good sport and cousin and played with followed Lynlee around for quite a while as the adults chatted.  She is in love with Adam!

Tuesday was Adam's Eagle Court of Honor.  Dad and Pat had gone earlier in the day, so Aunt Cheryl drove with the girls and I.  Congrats to Adam for achieving this rank, and being a 4th generation Eagle Scout, starting with Great-Grandpa Camp, Grandpa, his dad, and now himself.
Adam gave Grandpa a mentor pin, and that was a nice moment in the ceremony.  It was also fun to see all of the pinning going on--Adam to his mom, to his dad, Bobi to Adam, and etc.

But I don't want to wake up!

I think this is a record, seeing my family 3 days in a row.  Even though half of us live fairly close, we don't usually get together this often.  It was nice to see everyone.

A Big Day

Today was full, with a milestone and lots of adventures!

Ellie and I converted her bed to a "big girl" bed.  She was insistent on unscrewing the bolts herself.  I got them started, and she patiently worked until they were all undone.

After the front was off of her bed, Ellie crawled right in and pretended to go to sleep.
When bedtime came, we spread out some blankets on the floor, just in case she fell out (she didn't).  She was so excited for her new bed that she asked to go to bed early.

She came out of her room again 5 minutes later, and then went to bed (along with Lynlee) at her normal time.
We also had a grand adventure!  Greg is in Las Vegas and I wanted to do something different, so we packed up and headed to the Dinosaur Museum.  Ellie loved the sand (like always), and Lynlee liked riding in the stroller (and tolerated the sand).

After the museum, we headed over to the deli for dinner.  I got Ellie to agree to try a grilled cheese sandwich by telling her it was like a quesadilla.

She loved it! (And she asked for another one as her bedtime snack.)

Lynlee was in love with the cantaloupe and grapes and we had a good dinner.  Then we spent about an hour wandering around.  Ellie got brave and loved running up to this water contraption and pulling the trigger.  By the end, Lynlee was clapping and saying "yeah" for her (instead of being scared).

That was a big success.

We got 10 cent lollipops for our dessert.

Our Week

We love Story Time at the library.  Lynnie especially was excited to do a version of Ring Around the Rosy.  She loves to fall down!

 Doing the Shimmy Shake.
We celebrated our anniversary by going to the temple and then to dinner at the Harvest.  Hailey texted me this darling picture of Lulu.  Her regular glasses got really scratched, so she is wearing her back-up glasses.  They are clearly not fitted right, and I keep on trying to adjust them, but more often than not we end up with the granny look.

 Ellie loves making silly faces!

Sweet Lu is such a good snuggler, especially when she is tired.
Ellie loves to make tents and go camping.  She can collect an impressive amount of toys and books and bring them in.
More silly faces!

Funny Faces

Lynlee and her Pup are never far apart.  And nothing is more fun than making faces in the mirror!

Greg's 40th Birthday

40 doesn't seem very old, now that Greg has gotten there.

It seemed pretty old when we were newly-ish married, and I imagined us having a slew of teenagers by then.

We are so lucky to have so many good friends and so many amazing family members.  We had a wonderful night surrounded by loved ones.

Ellie and I came up with a list of 40 reasons why we love Greg, and Ellie taped them all over the house.  She was very meticulous about where to put each strip of paper, and very good at applying the tape.  When Greg walked in the door after work, the first thing she did was sing him Happy Birthday, and then she took him all over to show him where his papers were.

For once I got smart and hired Hailey to come over an hour before the party started.  In my mind it was to give Lynlee time to get warmed up to her (which she always does eventually) and it had the added benefit of letting me get all of the final touches done for the party.  Hailey fed the girls dinner and I was ready to go by the time our first guests arrived.  Then Hailey took the girls downstairs and they played happily with her for a couple of hours.

Once Lynlee wanted milk, she came upstairs and stayed with us, and Ellie & Hailey kept on playing.
Then it was cake time, and Ellie led the singing for her daddy!

Thanks to Julie for taking over my camera and getting lots of good pictures.

Eating cake with Dad, and I promise she found it delicious!

Amber & Sarah

Jon's kids are awesome, and every summer when we see them I am reminded again how much I wish I could see them more often!

The girls and I got to spend a few hours with Amber and Sarah today and we had a great time.  Eventually.

Lynlee wasn't feeling well.  After she got up today, we did our morning routine and I hopped in the shower.  She laid on the carpet in the bathroom doorway and cried the entire time I was in the shower.  Helpful Ellie tried to make her feel better, but nothing was working.  I got out of the shower and put her back in bed, and she slept until 3 p.m.

3 p.m.

That means she was pretty much asleep for over 19 hours.

Ellie spent the day hanging out with Hailey, who was a rock star (like always) and painted her nails, did her hair, and took her swimming at the Legacy Center.  I got a lot of work done and just missed my girls!

Around 4, we packed up and headed north to get Amber and Sarah from their friend's house.  Lynlee cried the whole way, and Ellie fell asleep in the middle of the screaming.

Amber got to sit next to Lynlee in the car, which intensified the screaming.  We quickly made our way to Cafe Rio, and after Lynlee got some beans and salsa and quesedilla in her tummy, she was almost back to her normal, happy self.

Ellie was designated the official photographer and got some really great shots at dinner.

After dinner we headed to Grandma's house to play.  Sarah plays a mean game of hide & seek, and we had fun watching Amber and Sarah play air hockey.
