So Tayler Will Know I Love Her

We were driving home and talking about what to do next.  Ellie said, "I know.  I want to draw a picture for Tayler so she will know how much I love her!"
Ellie drew a sun, a rainbow, a tree, Tayler, and herself.
I told Ellie we could mail it to Tayler, but she doesn't want me to fold it.  I tried to explain about the magic of 10x13 envelopes, but Ellie wasn't convinced.  She said we should just save it and give it to Tayler the next time we see her.

Great plan.

We also had fun making a "car" for Ellie's Kindermusik class.  Nice sister even let Lynnie take a spin at the wheel.

So fun when Ellie takes over the camera.

A Busy Day

We woke up to an amazing snow storm. It is really fun to shovel!  Ellie wanted to be my helper and she dove right in.

I love that feeling of getting in the shower after being outside, when your skin is so chilled that the hot water turns cold by the time it trickles down to your feet.

After shoveling 3 times, Ellie wanted to build a doghouse out of snow.  Inside, on the kitchen table.

Whatever keeps her happy.
We got to have lunch and play with our best friends.  Ellie and Davis had, perhaps, their best day ever.  They shared and listened to each other and were, most importantly, kind to everyone.

Lynnie asked, "Davis, can I snuggle you?"  Davis said YES!

We quickly ran to Macey's after Elizabeth's house and it was awesome.  Completely deserted.  It was just a little snow, and nobody wanted to drive anywhere.

Imagine that.

After getting home, I headed out to shovel again, and had about half of the driveway done after an hour.  I was counting my blessings that we don't live on a corner anymore.  (I hated shoveling at our old house, it took me 30 minutes just to do the sidewalks.  Or so it seemed.)

Our amazing neighbor came over with his snow blower and did all of the sidewalks and the other half of my driveway so quickly.  Loren saved me at least 45 minutes of shoveling.

Back inside, Ellie wanted to make a tent.  I need to improve my fort-making skills, but this worked for a little while.

My Friend Mary

My friend Mary constantly amazes me with her compassion, thoughtfulness, mothering, and organizational skills.

On Friday, she dropped by to borrow a movie, and brought us an amazing puppet theater that her mother-in-law made for her family years ago.

Ellie and Lynnie have been playing with it ever since.

They even had lunch in it.

We originally set it right by the kitchen, and Ellie immediately started giving us puppet shows.  She ducked down and held the puppets up and narrated away.  It was amazing to me what she did!

It got to be a little much walking through the puppet theater, so on Sunday we moved it to the bathroom by the playroom.

Lynnie was more interested in the baby bouncer.
And of course we played on the slide.

A Sampling...

...of Lynlee's latest photos.

Lynlee loves her mole and calls it a "pity flower" {pretty flower}.  I have one on my thigh, too, so Lynnie likes to say, "Mom, look, I pity flower.  You pity flower.  We match!"

More Bo on the Go, and the bed Ellie made on the floor for Lambie, who is sick.

In more excellent news, Lynnie has woken up dry 4 out of the last 5 mornings. Dare I hope that this is a sticking pattern?

Rewards

We have implemented a job chart, and Ellie gets to pick her reward for doing her jobs all week (making her bed, brushing her teeth, putting her clothes in the hamper, taking a shower, picking up toys, and helping mommy).  For 2 weeks in a row, she has picked going in the hot tub with Greg.

It was only 3 degrees, so I opted to keep Lynlee inside while Ellie and Greg had a quick dip.

I had a fun afternoon with my mom, sister, and sister-in-law.  It's Teri's 40th birthday next week, and we celebrated by going to the Garden restaurant at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  Good food and good company!

Ellie loves to take pictures with my phone and the iPad.  This gem was from the iPad.

Lynnie is a good eater.  She will try anything once.  Sometimes she wants me to cut her bites, and sometimes she digs right in.  She loves pears!
