Dance Recital Dress Rehearsal

We are in full-on dance mode this week, and it is super fun!  Miss Kristin wanted the girls' hair to be curly.

So we had to go buy a curling iron.

I was really tested, but it all worked out well in the end!

Love the costumes that Miss Kristin put together!  So cute individually, and especially as a group.

I started to take some group photos with Ellie's friends Alanna and Megan.

And as more people came, we added more people to the photos.  The best thing about this year's dance was having the dads in it (with Kristin's fabulously hand-crafted bow ties).

The hardest group all night was the girls with their daddy...

So much excitement, watching the other groups perform.

This has been a fun class of 3 and 4 year old girls, and Miss Kristin is the best!

While waiting for their turn to go on stage, Lynnie was fine as long as she was touching Ellie.  It was so sweet to me to see Ellie freely give that reassurance to her sister.

Yeah, it's finally our turn!

After our turn to practice, it was off to take an official group photo, and individual shots with Dad.  Then they got their certificates.  Such a fun night!

Kisses, Kindermusik, and Naptime

Cece is not the biggest fan of sitting.  She prefers to snuggle in, or stand up.  When I try and prop her in the side of the couch, she will wiggle and push on her legs until she falls over.  (Kind of a safety hazard, so I don't do that.)  She much prefers her bouncer to her Bumbo.

But today she happily sat in her Bumbo for over five minutes while we were eating lunch.  It probably helped to have her sisters giving her kisses!

Today was the last day of Kindermusik this spring.  Lynnie loves to dance with the ribbons.  Today she made a hat.

Today is also the end of an era.  It is Ellie's last day at Kindermusik!  We started in the mom and me class when she was 17 months old.  We love Miss Leda and all that she has taught us.

We have had quite a few late nights lately, and I wanted Lynnie to be well-rested so that she would have a chance to be happy at the dance recital dress rehearsal.  We dropped off Ellie at her Kindermusik class and Operation Naptime commenced.  Lynnie handed me her glasses, drank some milk, and then obediently shut her eyes.  I think she was asleep within 2 minutes.  I drove around until it was time to pick Ellie up and then we headed home.  I was able to get Lynnie inside and situated on the brown chair, where she slept for another 2 hours.

I call Operation Naptime a resounding success!

Found

I am going through pictures, trying to decide what to print from the last few months, and I found this gem from January 20, the day before Cecilia was born.

A Good Day

Cece and Ellie wave good morning!

We were excited to go to Sienna's birthday party.  Cece stayed home with Greg, who had some talks to work on for Sunday meetings.  I was hoping to be able to drop off the girls and go back home, but somehow knew that wouldn't happen.

And it didn't.

Lynnie needed some extra assurance (it was a big party!) and I had fun hanging out with them.

The best part of the carnival themed party?  The face painter!  She had two photo books with ideas to look through, and Ellie picked a star.

Lynnie wanted a rainbow.  The face painter put the paint on a sponge and just swiped it over each cheek, and Lynnie was pretty much done!  That was a fun technique.

Lynnie can always entertain herself by taking selfies.

This picture pretty much sums up the party for me.  Lynnie and I were at one end of the room, just doing our thing, while the party was happening everywhere else.  I love that Lynnie likes to observe and get comfortable before she dives in.

Ellie was in the thick of the action the whole time.  I love that she is a social butterfly and loves to be with people.

Lynnie did get excited to take a turn with the pinata.

After she hit at the pinata, she went right back over to hang out with Haddie and Kylee.

After we got home, Ellie showed off how talented she is by taking a selfie and posting it to my Instagram account.  While I was feeding Cece.  Without my knowing about it ahead of time.  That's impressive!

After our first fabulous birthday party, we got to go to another fabulous birthday party.  Parker turned 12!

Tammy monopolized Cece, and Cece loved every second of it.

"Daddy, can I sit on your head?"

Tammy tried to get Lynnie to give her a kiss, but Lynnie was having none of it!

Story time at the end of a fun day = the best thing ever.
