May 15 - 19

Ellie had nursery rhyme day at school, and she chose to perform Hey Diddle Diddle.  We gathered a dish and a spoon, a dog and a cat (which ended up staying home because it was too many pieces to manipulate), a cow, and made a moon out of perler beads.  Plus Ellie tried to dress up like the moon in the night sky.

Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
During our play date, some of the big girls put the dollhouse pool in front of Cece's door.  She happily climbed on top of it.

Albert's birthday is in a few days, and Lynnie got to go to lunch with him and Kanisha.  They had a great time, and then came back to our house to go to preschool graduation.

Except preschool graduation got cancelled because of the rain.  Lynnie happily performed all of the songs from her program, just for us.  Miss Traci brought over her diploma and a special gift.

My favorite song that she sang is "Gus the Goat."

Gus the Goat is a goofy garbage man.
He gobbles garbage straight from the can.
Grannyʼs glasses, garden gloves,
Gum and grapes are what he loves.
Girls and guys all giggle when he eats the can!

So glad to know that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.  With liberty and Texas for all.

For our family adventure on Saturday, we took Daddy to the aquarium.  He has never been there with us before, and we have never braved it on a Saturday.  It was packed and gave me a little anxiety.  I much prefer the moms and preschool kids crowd on weekdays.

Ellie wanted Greg to see a 4D movie with her, but Lynnie, Cece and I elected to pass.  Lynnie was grumpy, but a turn in the stroller and a drink helped her feel better.

Daddy helped Ellie be brave, and she touched a starfish.

After school on Tuesday, we made a trip to the library.  Cece loved sitting on a big girl chair by her sisters.

There was a break in our seemingly constant rain when we got home, so we took advantage and played outside.

At bedtime, Ellie got the great idea to sleep in a tent.  The Doc McStuffins tent wasn't quite big enough alone, so she got her Dora tent and pushed them together.

Ellie and Lynnie were having so much fun that it took them a while to get to sleep.  And then they both got cold in the middle of the night and migrated into our bed.  A fun experiment, but not a successful one (from a quality of sleep perspective).
