A Day at the Farm

We love to have family adventures on Saturday afternoon.  It is a nice reward after a morning of chores and learning how to work around the house.  We loved having Ky and Uncle Daniel come with us on our adventure to the farm.  We had to take a pony ride first!

. : best place to wait : .

During our time in line, Ellie and Lynnie made assignments.  Daniel would get the biggest pony, Ellie the next biggest, and Lynnie the next biggest.  Cece even got to try out a pony.  Greg was going to walk with Cece and I was on photography duty.  I helped Lu on her pony and then helped Ellie.  It was by far the largest pony she has ever been on, and she freaked out.  I ended up walking with her and abandoned the photography duty to Kylene.  Cece also freaked out and Greg just pulled her off the pony.  That happened so fast that we didn't get a picture of her.  Oh, well.  Here are the girls giving Ky their best smiles.
I love that they dressed up in boots and hats in preparation.  We are all about wearing the "right" clothes for the occasion.

Next we played in these houses.  Lynnie waited for one to be empty before she ventured in.

Ellie immediately went in a full one and made friends.

We fed some ducks, tried to see them milk the cows (but were an hour too early) and went back to play in this room.

Lynnie liked crawling through the tunnels as long as she had my phone with the flashlight app.

. : can you spot our whole crew? : .

Ellie took these next few pictures.

This is my favorite one:

Here is what I was taking at the exact same moment:

Haha!  That was good timing.  And a great afternoon.

Violin Recital

The girls had a violin recital on Friday night, and Ellie was very excited to play the Twinkle Variations.  She has been working on Tuka Tuka and Dr. Suzuki for a few months, and then it just clicked and she learned the last 4 variations in 3 days.  At her lesson last week, Grandma told her to play the rhythms on just the A string as a harmony, but Ellie was able to play all of the variations with all of the notes.  I was very proud of her.

Lynnie was going to play her box violin, but at the last second elected to stand next to Daddy while he videotaped Ellie.  My favorite part is how hard Ellie was concentrating.  When Aunt Bobi would play the introduction to the next variation, Ellie would say the name as she was getting ready.

This is how we entertained ourselves for the rest of the time:  Lynnie sat on Daddy's lap, Ellie randomly videotaped or took pictures of all the performances, and Cece pulled toys out of the bag.

We love grandma!  She's a great violin teacher, too.

March 22 - 26

After her rough time in Primary last week, Lynnie and I talked almost every day about how she should act in Primary (calm and respectful).  We talked about how much Sister Meiners loves her, and how much fun she has in Singing Time with Miss Sheryl.  This all turned into a major victory.  After Sacrament Meeting, Lynnie turned to me and said, "I'm ready for Primary!  Can I just walk with Sister Meiners?  She can probably take me."

We quickly walked over to Sister Meiners, and she was happy to walk Lynnie to Primary.

Love this treasure that Tammy showed me.  A wooden spoon that Greg (kind of facetiously) gave his mom as a present back in 1982.  Apparently, grandma broke a wooden spoon across Greg's backside when he was 10, so Greg got her a replacement.

Cece is just so big!  She follows her sisters everywhere.

Cece loves to organize and always puts whatever she finds on the top of the dollhouse.

Elsa was showing me her powers.  About a minute after I took these pictures, Elsa said, "wait a minute, I don't have gloves on with this dress -- just with the other dress!"

. : organizing the magnets in the Noah's Ark set : .

. : oh, you know, just eating a fishie cracker while sitting in criss cross applesauce : .

. : I'm not sure about my hearing aids today : .

. : I climbed up in this chair all by myself! : .

Ellie and Lynnie love to play getting married, and they often pull down this Precious Moments keepsake from the bookshelf in Greg's office.  This was the cake topper for our wedding cake, and it plays "They Long To Be Close To You" by The Carpenters.  Ellie asked me what the song was, and I sang it to her a couple of times.  Then I found it in my iTunes and we danced and sang it at least 20 times.  It was one of those golden hours, and it was so fun!  Lynnie joined us after a while (she had been having a picnic in the backyard).  The fun lasted until Cece woke up from her nap.

Comparisons

I love seeing the girls wearing the same outfits.   Cece is simply taller than the other two when they were 14 months old, and is wearing 2T clothes about 5 months earlier than they did.  I love their different genetics!
