November 27 - 30

An annual BCLs event is Black Friday shopping.  In some of the past years, Greg had a basketball game and I would go for the hours he was available to be home.  The last few years he has chosen not to have a game, and I can play with my friends all day long.  This year we started at 8 am, shopped all day, and finished by going to a 9:50 p.m. movie.

Greg and the girls played with cousins at the Natural Curiosity Museum. I loved getting updates with cute pictures.

Cece got a short nap on Daddy's shoulder while at the museum.

While making breakfast on Saturday morning, the girls played with perler beads.  I love that Cece has started posing for the camera.  She loves to make silly faces and then wants to see herself in the photo.

A few years ago, Julie took me to her friend's moving sale, and got us in an hour before it officially started.  That friend had one daughter who had barely worn many of her numerous outfits.  I completely cleaned out the size 5s and above, and got about 20 pairs of shoes and boots (all for about $150, if I remember correctly).  Many of the outfits still had tags on them.  My favorite find at that sale were these Christmas dresses.  I got all three because there were 3, in size 4, 5, and 6.  I had no idea that Cece would join our family then, but how grateful I was to have coordinating dresses for all three of our gorgeous girls!

We did a quick photo shoot, and it was hilarious.  It is hard to get all of them to stand still, let alone to get them to look at me!

We tried holding hands.

Cece thought that was fun.

Lynnie got mad that Cece pulled away.

So Lynlee quit the photo shoot.

I tried again with the green dress girls

Lynlee stomped her foot and said, "FINE!  I will be in the picture."

That didn't last long.

Love these girls and their personalities!  If you look back, you will see Ellie obediently standing still and trying to be good for each picture.  Cece is her happy, baby self.  And Lynlee is a spitfire.  It was a perfect 5 minutes.

Ellie loves going to her allergy doctor for NAET treatments.  Cece and Lynlee are used to the routine now as well.  Cece was being hilarious this day, just wanting Ellie to hold her.  Cece was trying to put a barrette in E's hair.

Cece kept on giving the sweetest loves.

While Ellie is getting her treatment, Lynlee and Cece either sit with me in the chairs or stand on the wall and watch.  Cece had pulled out the fruit leathers for their snack before we went in, so they happily kept on munching.

The muscle response testing is Ellie's favorite part.  We love Dr Kofford!

Thanksgiving Day Photo Shoot

I was thinking about creating a Christmas card and could not find a good picture with the whole family.  So on Thanksgiving, when Cece woke up from her nap, we grabbed Tammy and headed out in the freezing cold weather to snap a few pictures.

While those are cute, when it came time to make the card, I ended up choosing a picture of the girls (not pictured here, so you can be a little surprised when they come!).  Their faces are so precious, and I just love the personalities that are shining through.  Happy Thanksgiving!  I am grateful for so many blessings in my life: first and foremost, my beautiful family, our birth parents, and the miracle of adoption.

Thanksgiving

We love to host Thanksgiving at our house!  This year we had a relatively small crowd, with Grandpa & Grandma, Tammy, Daniel, Rod, Jasmine, Byron, Tanya, David, Andrew, Emily, Kent, Jessica, Denver, Baylee, and Brayden. Only 21 all together.

The girls helped me start preparations on Monday.  We even set up the tables, complete with place settings, on Wednesday.  On Thanksgiving morning, the girls were so cute to take a quiet minute to snuggle on the couch together.

Greg started a tradition years ago to make pies on Thanksgiving morning.  Ellie is becoming quite the helper.  We love making it a family affair.  Cece was more interested in watching YouTube Kids on the iPad than helping.

Tammy and Daniel were the first to arrive. Tammy went to work slicing up the famous Spencer "Hors d'Oeurves" that she made.  Tammy also brought with her this impressive vegetable tower that Grandma made.

I was struck by the cousins table.  One of my fears back in the midst of our infertility was that if/when we had children, they wouldn't have any cousins to play with  because everyone else was done.  That has turned into an unfounded fear, an I am so grateful.

I didn't get great picture of the abundance of food, but we had 11 different  types of pie.

Denver and Cece had a great time playing together.

Jasmine was sick and Ellie took great care of her.

November 11 - 24

All three girls have been hit this week with a bug that includes throwing up and a fever.  Ellie caught it first, then Cece & I, and then Lynlee.  You know she is sick when she falls asleep in the van on the way home in the afternoon and sleeps through getting pulled out and put on the chair.  She slept there until I was ready to go to bed and I put her in her own bed.

Take a closer look at that sweet face.

Cece usually tries to grab Ellie's violin during practice time.  While I was bathing Cece this night, Ellie made C her own personalized violin.  It was the sweetest thing!

Loved this piece of homework Ellie came home with.  Miss Fox read a story from the perspective of the big bad wolf.  In answer to the question,  "Do you believe the Wolf in The True Story of the Three Little Pigs?," Ellie said:

I don't think the wolf was telling
the truth because a wolf don't tock {talk} and
tell the truth.

Cece's favorite sign right now is ELEPHANT.  I caught her showing it to Daddy.

Greg's first basketball game of the season -- he's all packed and ready to go!

We are "interviewing" surgeons and audiologists as we try to decide if we should implant Cece with a cochlear implant.  I thought Cece was on the mend, but she fell asleep on me about 10 minutes into the appointment.  She woke up just in time to throw up (spectacularly!) all over the waiting room and then go home.  My friend Erin, in a crazy coincidence, was in the waiting room for an appointment with her son, and we were chatting as I was putting Cece's coat on her.  Erin was invaluable in marshaling supplies for me as I cleaned up the mess. We made quite an, ahem, impression on that doctor's office!

Lynlee has been on quite a smoothie kick lately.  As long as the final color is purple-ish, she will put in lots of spinach.  And then lots more blueberries to make it sweet.  Her preferred recipe is a little bit of juice, water, a cutie orange, a go-gurt, spinach, and blueberries.  And lots of ice.

Our garage fridge was an old one we inherited when Uncle Glenn got divorced years ago.  It quit working a few months ago and we have slowly adjusted to having less fridge space.  Greg's parents got a new fridge and graciously offered to let us have their old fridge.  Greg and his dad, with Daniels' expert directing skills, got the fridge loaded and over to our house.  It sure is nice to have space to buy more than 2 gallons of milk at a time!  This is saving me lots of trips to the grocery store.

Lynlee got to go on a date with Albert and Kanisha, and Ellie, Cece, and I helped Greg organize and clean out the garage.

Cece loves syrup.  She will dip her pancake in it, lick the syrup off, and repeat.  Sometimes she will actually take a bite, but mostly it is just licking.

Kanisha gave Lynlee some cute new clothes, and we had to take a picture to send to her.

Ellie had the awesome idea to walk to church.  Cece was still getting better and it was a little cold, so Cece and I trailed the big girls in the van.  They looked so grown up, and yet so little, holding hands and walking along in their matching church coats.

We got to go to Adam's birthday party.  So much fun to see him and the rest of the family!

Another new shirt from Kanisha.  It says, "are you kitten me?"  So cute.
