August 24 - 31

I love getting to drive the girls to school on Wednesday mornings while Greg has an early meeting for work.  Lynlee marched right in, hung up her backpack, and found her desk.  She looked so grown up.

Cece just cracks me up.  All the time!  She loves the remote for her cochlear implant.  She carries it around and pretends it is a phone.  She likes to make the screen light up and beep when she pushes the buttons.

My cute mom posted this on Instagram:

Lynnie set up her dolls and Puppy with some books so they wouldn't be bored while she was at school.

This is Cece's newest favorite pose for pictures.

Lynlee is the mom of twins, in case you were wondering.

We love spending Saturdays as a family.  My friend Tiff's daughter was having a bake sale to raise money for Type 1 Diabetes research (Abby has T1D).  We went there and got some yummy treats and soda.

Ultra Steam had recently gotten a new truck, and next we drove up to get a bed cover installed.  They were super fast, and we didn't have to wait in the store very long.

Next up was a swim party hosted by the girls' school.  It was fun to see friends and spend the evening swimming.

Lucky for us, we got to finish up our late night hanging out with Kiki and Tammy.  Kiki was in town for Clayton's homecoming and we snagged some of her time for snuggles and laughs.

Every time we go to the aquarium, Ellie thinks about touching the electric eel shock thing.  She hasn't done it yet, but maybe next time.

The girls thought this bird looked like a phoenix, their school mascot.

The new Asia exhibit had animals and not many sea creatures, so that was interesting. We loved seeing the leopards.

{R} was with us, and it was a great visit.  She showed off her muscles by carrying Cece for a very long time.

First Day of Kindergarten

The long awaited day is finally here -- the first day of kindergarten!  Lynlee is generally not a breakfast eater, as she doesn't want food until 10 or so.  This is going to be a problem with school, I can already tell.  She managed to eat some toast and drink some milk, and she was ready to go.

We headed out to take her picture.  She wanted a smiley face on her chalkboard to show how happy she is to go to school.

Daddy got to go with us, and our carpool friend.  There is a brand new development to the east of the school, and it was fun to walk up to school and not have to fight the giant field of weeds.

. : still excited : .

I loved all of the photo backdrops the kindergarten teachers provided.  Lynlee found her name on the door.

And, now the nerves are starting to set in...

Love this picture of her carpool friends and a couple of baby sisters.

And, then, it was her turn!  Mrs Holmgren called the students one by one to line up and get ready to go into class.

I got to do pick-up for carpool on the first day.  Lynlee was more nervous about carpool than school, I think.  These friends were happy to report that they had an excellent first day!

August 17 - 21

Cece loves to conduct music and sing.

I quickly threw Cece's hair into a high ponytail and she loved it.  For about 4 minutes.

We were all missing Ellie after she went back to school.  To distract ourselves, we went to The Farm and played.

Cece liked the wagon ride.  She just didn't like standing here for a picture.

Cece actually rode the pony!  I snapped a picture, and then held on to her the rest of the time, but she gripped the pommel with one hand and my shirt with the other.  It was a big improvement over last time.

Lulu is a pro and loved every second of her ride.

We finished up our adventure with an ice cream cone at the deli.

Fridays are early out days and we love it. Ellie is done at 12:15.  We headed straight to the splash pad after she got home.  A bunch of kids were racing their shoes, and Cece figured out how to be a bridge.  She loved watching for the next shoes to come.

This sparkly outfit was Cece's birthday present from her birth mom.  She wore it a lot last winter/spring, but then it didn't fit very well around her waist.  She has shot up lately, and it fits even better now.  I was glad that she picked to wear it to church.
