Week of Fun

Cece is not a fan of food.  I try to feed her in her high chair once or twice a day.  She drinks rice cereal mixed into every single bottle, so she is very familiar with the flavor.  She will not eat it very well from a spoon.  The only success I have had with her is to mash up little bits of banana and mix that with a little cereal.  But she will only eat it off of my finger.  She will even grab my finger and pull it into her mouth.  Put the same food on the spoon, and it is a no go.

Ellie wanted to swim in the pool in the backyard.  Sounds like fun!  And even more fun was getting the big green and white umbrella and having an impromptu picnic, complete with bubbles.

Cece is always happy as long as she is touching me or can see where I am.

Ellie loves to jump in the pool.

Lynnie made a boat out of a wipes box.  She loved driving it.

Cece loved watching Lynnie color.  She is a good talker and kept us very entertained.

Cece still pretty much hates being on her tummy.  She has started rolling over in her sleep, which wakes her up because she is mad.  Most of the time she will go back to sleep.

Cece liked little bits of fresh peach--again off of my finger.

Lynnie loves to dress up!  She also has started carrying around a second puppy.  He is a boy puppy named Sugary Tanner.  She has dressed Sugary in about 8 pieces of Cece's clothing.

Kiera came into town with her roommate for the weekend.  She has had a week of classes at Idaho State University and is loving the college life so far.

First Day of Kindergarten

It is finally here.  The first day of Kindergarten!  Ellie has been anticipating this day for months.  Now that it is here, she is experiencing a range of emotions: excitement, nervousness, anxiousness, and joy.

School starts at 8 a.m., which means we are adjusting our morning routine and I got to wake up all of the girls early.  I love that these sweet sisters are almost always wrapped up together.  They love to snuggle.

Let's take a closer look at that.

After getting ready, we headed outside to take pictures.  Ellie wanted to stand in the same spot where we had taken preschool pictures last year.

When we got in the car to drive to school, Ellie got pretty nervous.

Brave girl gave me a big smile as soon as the camera started clicking.

Lynnie thought it was pretty fun to be taking Ellie to school.

And Cece is always up for anything!

Since it was our first day, we decided not to fight the drop-off traffic, but just parked on the side street and walked Ellie in to school.

And then she was walking in her room!  I was proud of how, even though she was nervous, Ellie just walked right in and up to her teacher.

She found her desk with her name on it.

I couldn't bring myself to leave yet (along with about 10 other Kindergarten parents, huddled around the door).  I was pretty teary-eyed watching this brave, grown-up girl embarking on her school adventure.  Greg finally had to drag me away.

Lynnie kept Cece entertained for those couple of minutes while we were watching through the doorway.

While we were at home waiting for Ellie to be done on her first day, Lynnie drew on the chalkboard.  She drew a picture of herself and Daddy swinging Puppy.

It was exciting to pick up Ellie and hear all about her fabulous morning.  She was very informative, and gave us a good play by play.  When I asked her if she made any friends (something she was most worried about), she said that she really liked a girl named Piper, but Piper sits at the green table and Ellie sits at the purple table, but they could still be friends and talk lots, and it was so awesome to make a friend named Piper, you know, like Tayler's Piper.  As soon as we got home, I took more pictures of Ellie with my phone so I could have some pictures to text to Tayler and post to Instagram.  Just as we were finishing, Grandma Camp pulled up.

Grandma was a good listener and got to hear all about Ellie's day.  After talking for a few minutes and eating lunch, Ellie had the idea to make kites.  Grandma remembered how to make kites from when she was a little girl, and we got crafting.  I helped Ellie and Grandma helped Lynnie.  Soon we were in the backyard, flying those kites!

A Good Weekend

Puppy's ear fell off Saturday morning.  I immediately got my sewing supplies and got ready to fix it.  Lynnie very seriously said, "weh-ell, maybe we should take Puppy to Grandma so SHE can fix her."  Ellie responded, "but Grandma broke her arm, Lynnie, she probably can't sew."

I tried to reassure Lynnie that Grandma had taught me how to sew, and that even though she has never actually seen me sew, I could do a few things.  I could tell Lynnie would only be convinced by the end product.  I did my best, and Puppy's ear is back on.  I realized hours later that I should have fixed Puppy's shoulder as well.  She's just had safety pins for so long that are part of her.

Cece was styling during our family shopping trip.  Ellie picked her outfit from head to toe.

Lynnie loves a lot of the vegetables from our garden.  Her favorites are the green bell peppers and the cherry tomatoes.  She wouldn't look at me, but I love the ball in her cheek that happens when she shoves an entire tomato in her mouth.

Cece loves to hold her own bottle, but it slips out of her grasp pretty easily.  I got out these bottles for her to try, because there are handles.  She loved it as a toy, I think, but didn't drink very much milk.

Cece took a little nap during Sacrament Meeting.  Literally the second she woke up, Lynnie wanted to hold her.  Love her sleepy eyes, and the pictures Hailey surreptitiously took!

After church, we were excited to have {R} come over for dinner.  I have been sad that I missed taking pictures of {R} and Cece both on Cece's sealing day and on her blessing day.  {R} was a good sport and agreed to do a full-on photo shoot.  Ellie chose the location.  Ellie also picked out her own outfit for {R}s visit -- cheetah pants and a zebra clip.

Cece was a little interested at first, but quickly was over the whole experience.

Ellie, Lynnie, {R} and I all tried to get Cece happy again, but mostly to no avail.

Curious Girl was very interested when Ellie ran circles around the fountain.  Cece kept on whipping her head around to see where Sister had gone.

The crying baby is pretty cute, and her dress, made by her birth grandma, is absolutely gorgeous.
